My name is Dorothy Durbin. I have accrued many years of experience in residential interior design. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design from Marymount University. I love my career. What I often hear from clients is “She was born to do this!”.
After gaining an understanding of my clients and the scope of the design project, I make recommendations; some over text and email, others in person. Ideas are set adrift as it is a collaboration between client and designer. Out of this sourcing and sorting process I am continually amazed at the results. What I call EPIC moments in design.
I study each client’s style, vibe, and how they move in and through the spaces they inhabit, understanding what their routine is. Do they have children or pets? Are there special needs to be considered in the home?
I work with clients to pre-stage their home to sell. In this case, we removed the heavy drapes, refinished the floors, and removed any outdated furniture. The house sold shortly thereafter.
